Bring the library into your conversation
Connect to ChatGPT
Add the library once, then choose an assistant by name. Its instructions stay here and are retrieved when you ask to use it.
Set up your connection
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode, if your account or workspace allows it.
- Open Plugins → Add → Create MCP App (or the plus button, depending on your interface). Name the connection cbpb.
- Choose a public MCP server connection and paste this address. Select No authentication if asked: this connection only reads public library content.
https://chatbotpromptlibrary.com/mcpReview the two read-only tools, search_library and get_instructions, then create the connection.
Use an assistant
Start a new conversation, type @, and select your cbpb connection from the menu. Then name the assistant and your task:
@cbpb Use Creative Writing GPT to help me outline a mystery novel. Load its instructions first.
Select the actual connection in the mention menu; typing plain text alone does not install or connect it. The connection retrieves the latest published instructions when called.
Prefer to copy and paste?
Open any assistant with saved instructions, choose Copy instructions, and paste into a new ChatGPT conversation. This also works when your account does not offer custom connections.
No OpenAI API key is required. ChatGPT handles the conversation in your account. This does not embed ChatGPT on this website or transfer its subscription to another app.
The library is public. The connection cannot read your ChatGPT history, change this site, or import GPT instructions from your account. It does not recreate knowledge files, actions, or a GPT’s original model configuration.
